You say you can't play the nice video tape your family sent
to you
from Germany, or another foreign country, last Christmas!!
That can be such a disappointment! Just when you sit down to watch your family back home opening their Christmas gifts you find all you get on your screen is a lot of black and white lines. You might be able to hear voices, but they sound like Mickey Mouse and are impossible to understand! "What have they sent us", you ask yourself! "A video tape in the European PAL video format probably.
Did you know Europe does not use the same VHS format as we do
here in the United States? Most of Europe, including Germany, Austria and Switzerland
use a system called "PAL". We, here in the United States, use a system
called "NTSC". These two formats are not interchangeable. While the
video tapes look identical, they can not be played the same. Just what do you
do with this problem?
Actually it is not such a big problem, because we here at the German Language
Video Center can transfer your tape from PAL to NTSC (or the other way around)
on professional video equipment at a very reasonable charge. To transfer a tape
we charge $19.95 plus $5.50 shipping and handling. What could be easier? We
even supply the blank tape. So what are you waiting for? Send those tapes to
us today for conversion. Usually transfers are completed the day we receive
them or at least within two (2) days. If you wish to pay by personal check include
a check made payable to:
German Language Video Center
You may also pay by Visa, Master Card or Discover Card. Don't forget to include the expiration date. Of course, money orders and bank checks are always welcome too.
So now you will be able to watch the family at Christmas, see your sister's new baby girl, send your family a video of your son's graduation from college. It's almost as good as being there.
